Sucupira Veneer Project
Project: Master dressing and master bathroom furniture
Interior construction: Oostergracht Custom Furniture – Soest
Architect: Wolterinck Design Studio – Laren
Veneered sheet material: Kuiper Holland – Tubbergen
“For a luxury residential villa in Joppe, near Gorssel, Oostergracht, commissioned by Wolterinck Design Studio, provided a master dressing and master bathroom furniture with Sucupira veneer. Sucupira is a wood species with a beautiful grain pattern that has been frequently used by Wolterinck Design Studio in the past. The veneered panels are of Dutch manufacture and produced by Kuiper Holland from Twente. The contrast between light and dark in the veneer is accentuated by the “sliding veneer” technique, where the veneer sheets are joined together side by side with the same side facing outward.”
Sucupira Features
Sucupira is also known as Sucupira Preta, Couer Dehors, Tatabu, Peonia and Alcornoque. It finds its origins in South-America. It has a slightly lighter colour as its competitor Wenge. It was first introduced in The Netherlands after Suriname brought it from their country to sell here.
